The herd that we acquired from Robert & Trina King in February, 2008, is the result of a selective Butler breeding program spanning over 25+ years, which focused on productivity, conformation, and horn. The success of that program is evident in the animals we purchased.
The foundation of this herd was 3 very impressive longhorns –
Oneil 2, O’Neil 12, and K Trina Graves.
To breed these females, the Kings primarily used these herd sires -
Dode Graves FM962 (Welfare RG 921 x Miss Pauline RG935) &
Tom Horn (Coach x Ace's Dixie Danielle).
In addition to daughters & granddaughters from these 3 awesome Butler females, we also acquired Folsom Butler Bell BW23 and Nike 130, both of whom were purchased by Robert & Trina at the first Butler Breeders Invitational Sale in 1998. Added in was some Webb & Little Ace genetics, thus forming the herd that is now part of Rio Vista Ranch.
Thanks to Robert & Trina for making this outstanding group of first class Butler longhorns available to us. Offspring of Oneil 2, O'Neil 12, and K Trina Graves as well as Folsom Butler Bell & Nike 130 are profiled below. For a complete listing of the animals included in this acquisition, click here.
Oneil 2 & O'Neil 12 were both Classic/Leta Boom daughters and
full sisters to the great
Lota Class.
